Curves Are a Plus for Fiona Falkiner 8 Years After The Biggest Loser

“Life after The Biggest Loser has been incredible,” Fiona Falkiner told Confidential from her London home.

“Some days I have to pinch myself and say, ‘is this real?’ I’m a country girl from Birregurra now working as a successful international model.”

Falkiner was a size 20 when she appeared on the first series of The Biggest Loser Australia and was a size 12 when the show ended and she came fourth.

Now a “healthy and happy” 16, she is one of our top modeling exports, working the plus size scene with the likes of other fuller figured models Robyn Lawley and Georgina Burke.

She’s been criss crossing Europe for editorial shoots in Denmark, France, Germany and of course, the UK.

And she recently shot the new campaign for Yours Clothing, succeeding Hayley Hasselhoff as the labels new face.

“There are so many incredible women in the plus size industry and everyone is kicking goals,” said Falkiner, who appeared on Dancing With The Stars.

Falkiner recently travelled to New York to meet with top modelling agencies including Wilhelmina and Muse.

She signed with JAG, a new agency started by the plus size bookers from Ford.

“To be honest I was very nervous going over,” she said. “I was hoping that one of them would sign me and I had all my meetings and it turned out they all wanted to sign me which was very exciting. Life is pretty amazing right now and I’m just taking it one step at a time.

One of the joys for Falkiner is being a positive role model for young women.

“It’s an incredibly rewarding job,” she explained.

“I still get messages from young girls who are struggling with body image. Actually, not just young girls, even grown women who say that I help them, which is amazing.”
